Thousand faces of plastic surgery

This surgical technology in ancient times though in nascent stages is in vogue since ages. Shusrut from India perfected many forms of cosmetic procedures. Ancient surgeons from Rome and other western countries learned plastic surgery from Shusrut in India.Of now the techniques also involve advanced laser treatments for cosmetic and reconstructive gains. These are being used for unwanted hair removal as well as scar removals.

From simple procedures the evolution has taken advance steps and complex methods have been developed for reconstruction and beautification. Plastic cosmetic and reconstructive surgery is offer by expert surgeons who have years of experience in this line.  The procedures include non surgical as well usually are cosmetic in nature. Cosmetic surgery is eclectic and depends upon the individual to go for it. This is also known as cosmetic aesthetic surgery.  Some of the examples are arm lift, breast reduction, augmentation or lift, chin surgery, otoplasty and many more.

This phenomenal treatment covers all parts of human body which can be reconstructed for medical reasons as well as aesthetic reasons. The number of people undergoing these procedures has increased fourfold due to popularity and advance in technology. In modern age the stress of appearance has increased hence lot of people opt for methods that make them look better.

While plastic surgery is generally safe some procedure may entail risk hence full care has to be taken in this regard. It is also wise to verify the accreditation of doctor  offering these treatments.

Alternative medicines

Before the discovery of modern allopathic drugs and surgical procedures man had to rely on nature for cures and preventions. He relied on vegetation that grew around him for treatments. In the later period of man’s history allopathic drugs and modern surgery came into picture.

Modern medicinal system proved very effective and cured diseases that natural herbs could not. The system proved best for prevention and treatment of much disease like TB which caused many deaths. The time came whence there was total reliance on modern systems. But as time went past the harmful effects or side effects of many drugs began to be known.

In order to counter the side effects of allopathic systems homeopathy was invented by Dr. Heinemann of Germany. Ayurvedic system of medicine was already being practiced in India but the rest of the World knew little about it.

In recent times the cost factor also came into consideration and the effort to discover alternative systems for prevention, treatment and cures intensified. As a result many alternative systems for disease treatment have come into picture. Some with intense research have been accepted by the society.  The benefits of others are being realized as time progresses.

Most notable has been the treatment of heart and blood vessel related diseases. Current procedures for treatment of cardiac diseases are costly, risky and invasive. Alternative heart disease treatments most popular are ACT, non invasive by pass and angio cardiography which again is safe and a non surgical procedure.

Another good alternate resource is the chelation therapy which removes heavy metals from blood vessels which are the cause of deposits in the blood vessels.

Similarly many methods, procedures and drugs are being developed that have less side effects and are safer. In time to come suffering of human society will be reduced. Special thanks should be forwarded to those who are constantly researching – doctors, scientists and amateurs.

New developments in plastic surgery

Sentinel node biopsy is a procedure in plastic surgery that removes cells for testing the metastases formation. This plastic surgery procedure is highly accurate and ideal for cancer prevention and diagnosis..

The recent method of wound closure by vacuum assistance is also a useful plastic surgery procedure. The wound is exposed  to negative pressure using a vacuum pump. The negative pressure forms granulation tissue that hastens the healing process.

Instant breast reconstruction is now possible using using surgery. This is known as segmental mastectomy. An experienced plastic surgeon is required for mammoplasty. This is most helpful for women undergoing partial breast removal of those having ungainly breasts. This reconstructive procedure can also be used in reducing or enhancing the size of the breast.

The scan looks at plaque in the arteries.  Another ultrasound test is able to discover plaque in the carotid artery. This a vessel that delivers blood to the brain. This test is hence able to predict high risk of stroke.

Both the test are non invasive however in calcium scan exposure to radiation may be there. These tests should be routinely conducted after fifty years of age. This will lead to better health care.
