Heart disease diagnosis using medical imaging

Medical imaging comprises of variety of technique used to scan and take images of various parts of human body. The purpose is clinical and diagnostic in nature. Medical imaging is by and large a part of biological imaging and is often used research and in studies besides diagnosis

Medical imagery incorporates various discipline of science like nuclear, radiology, photography endoscopy and microscopy. In clinics radiology is used most often by expert radiologists. Hence in broader sense imaging for purpose is a sub discipline of medical engineering and medicine.

The primary benefits are safety, cost and better diagnostic. Medical imaging plays an important role in this method of treatment and diagnosis. It assists non surgical disease diagnosis and hence treatment.

The developments in the field of imagery for clinical and medical purposes have changed the entire paradigm of disease management. With further development in health sciences non invasive cardiology is becoming popular. The techniques find extensive use in heart disease treatment especially for diagnosing blocked arteries and other heart blockages.

Though these techniques are mostly non invasive but do incorporate invasive technique where ever necessary. Angiography is one such example of fluoroscopy where catheter guidance is required. Though purely applicable to cardiology, neuroscience and psychology medical imaging finds application in industries and scientific research.

In case of cardiology these techniques are used in coronary angiography and 3 D angio-cardiography. While in case of angiography, diagnosis is an invasive technique, the latter is non invasive process. In case of 3 D angio-cardiography data acquisition is carried out using and machine. The next step is DSP or digital signal processing along with VAD or Vertical acceleration detector to record blood flow pattern during various stages of heart function or cardiac cycles. Thus various data accumulated by this method is used to determine blockages with application of cartography.

Diagnosing heart disease has become safer due to non interventional processes. This is useful in angina pain treatment by detecting blood flow in the heart muscles and blockages. Non surgical procedures in case of heart treatment are being looked into with great hope.

Miscarriage & Infertility

Though treated differently repeated miscarriage is an infertility problem. The cause of miscarriage is could be ectopic pregnancy where in the the fertilized ovum is planted outside the uterus. A rupture can lead to pregnancy loss. This is emotionally shattering to the women.

Due to some infertile conditions miscarriage can happen repeatedly or women undergoing fertility treatment can have repeated IVF failures. Some women due to following causes are more prone: Scarred fallopian tubes, Endometriosis, Tubal reversal, IUD usage, pelvic diseases, defective fallopian tubes smoking, some history of infertility.

Repeated miscarriage is suggestive of some fertility problem in many cases. This could have genetic reason or abnormality in the uterus.  In such circumstances it is advisable to go in for testing and fertility treatment if required.

By addressing the reproductive system a fertility specialist doctor can help eliminate the root cause of the malady. Severe endometriosis, genetic defects in embryo, alcoholic or smoking women and old age pregnancy has to handled with greater care during assisted reproduction .

To detect genetic defects chromosome analysis is performed on the women, fetus and the male partner. In some cases  especially where the uterus has structural faults surgery may be required. Hormone therapy can also help in preventing miscarriages where hormonal abnormality is the cause.

Cosmetic plastic surgery

The World over people are conscious of their looks and appearance. Though much talked about plastic surgery is being resorted to in many countries. Plastic surgery is basically reconstructive in nature used mostly to rectify anomalies in physical make up or defects arising from serious disease, burns and scars. the surgery is also useful in correcting body parts and their functions.

With research and development in cosmetic plastic surgery it use to change one's appearance began to increase. Today it is a major industry since commercial aspects are leading major earnings for surgeons, hospitals and clinics all over the World.

Cosmetic plastic surgery comprises of many procedures most of which are surgical. The procedures deal with many parts of the body that are meant to be reduced or enhanced. Some corrective procedures are meant to completely reshape the part.

The surgical expertise depends upon the plastic surgeon gained after years of experience. It is a challenging task to reproduce the desired shape using the scalpel. People seek a surgeon with expertise  in procedures after ascertaining his credentials.

Some of the popular aspects of cosmetic surgery are:

Liposuction for surgically removing fat from the body.
Abdominoplasty or tummy tuck refers to reduction of the protruding stomach.
Breast procedures are for breast reduction, enlargement and reshaping.
Rhinoplasty for reshaping the nose.

Otoplasty for reshaping the ear.
Face lift and implants
Scar revision

The field is limitless and almost any physical feature can be tempered with in order to reshape it.
How the surgical procedure will affect your body and will there be adverse effects?
How safe will the operation be?

These question can only be answered by plastic surgery specialist. One should discuss in detail with the surgeon before undergoing the operation.

Medical Imaging

Coronary Angiography

This is a imaging technique used for detecting blockages in the blood circulatory system. The lumen of coronary arteries and veins are visualized by injecting a radio opaque chemical and then taking the image using fluoroscope. Angiography also called arteriography is defined as projection radiography.

Medical imaging is used for clinical purpose and has diverse applications. It is basically investigative and diagnostic in nature. This procedure Egas Moniz of Portugal in year 1927. It has since then been developed significantly in order to make it more safe and effective. The variations  have been developed a Color DSA and  3 D DSA .

There are many variations of coronary angiography techniques used in hospitals. The procedure depends upon the part of the body which is subject to imaging. The imaging procedure output is known as angiogram. A catheter is used to inject the chemical agent in the coronary artery to be scanned. This is helpful in locating blockages, visualizing blood flow and openings of the arteries.

There are some cases of kidney damage, dye rejection, blood clot etc during angiography. Hence the technique is not absolutely safe.  The non invasive form of procedure used is 3D angiocardiography which is affordable as well.

Medical imaging plays a crucial role in disease diagnostic and treatment. The procedures are widely used in diagnosing blood circulatory problems and heart imagery. These costly and bit unsafe with advnce in research the output is better.

Treatment for fertility in India

India is a vast and heavily populated country. With such population density and poverty arise many health maladies among the people. Unlike the West, with its fast and stressful life India has a set of health diseases that are more prevalent. But the ratio of infertile couples would be the same hence people all over are looking for fertility treatment

The treatments for infertility have advanced in recent times and the rate of success has increased. Though some of the treatments are affordable many are not. People seek affordable cures all over the World. In developed countries, medical procedures are costlier and many patients seek medical abroad.

In India, the medical service sector has advanced in recent times and the country has facilities, experts, and infrastructure which compared with the best. There are many fertility clinics in India
that offer affordable treatment. Barren couples seeking a cure for infertility visit these centers the most. Clinics in urban centers are well equipped with all facilities and technology to carry out the procedures successfully.

Most popular procedures are conducted in these centers which are cost-effective. There are a large number of patients who seek treatment in India because of the factors described above. This is also known as medical tourism since visiting places of interest is part of the itinerary.

Alternative heart care in India

Heart by all means is a vital organ of the body without it efficient functioning we will not survive. For ages heart care was center of attention among humans. In modern society whence stress and strain are at peak among men and women heart care becomes more important.

Stressful lifestyle, stress and strain relate to many anomalies in our circulatory system as whole. the negative effect is most on the heart. Coronary artery blockage and high blood pressure are the most prevalent form of maladies that have struck people of all ages in all countries.

Heart disease treatment is available in many forms. The most popular method is to treat the organ with medicines. In case of greater damage to the organ surgery and invasive diagnosis is required. The method is costly and fraught with risks. Hence heart patients have always been searching for cost effective procedures that offer relief and cure.

Angiography is the most widespread procedure used for diagnosis of coronary artery blockages. But it is invasive and fraught with risks. The major risk is of dye rejection which can result in kidney damage. The alternative to angiography is 3D angiocardiography which is non invasive and affordable. It can be performed in short time in the coronary angiography clinics  or heart hospitals. The latest development is color 3D  angioangiography which is more effective.

Another alternative treatment is ACT or artery clearance therapy.  Using an infusion of chemicals or medicines. This procedure is effective in clearing the blood vessels by disintegrating toxic metals in the blood stream. Hence the main cause of blockage is effectively removed.

Chelation therapy is used to relieve angina pain. This is non surgical painless way to restore blood supply to muscles of the heart. the procedure involves use of EDTA (Ethylene Diamine Tetra-Acetic Acid) as infusion. This is introduced in the body by drips. This is effective in removing heavy metals that cause blockages in the circulatory system and the heart as well.

This are the alternative and safe methods to treat coronary artery disease in humans. More research is being done in order to find non surgical treatments for heart diseases.
