New developments in plastic surgery

Sentinel node biopsy is a procedure in plastic surgery that removes cells for testing the metastases formation. This plastic surgery procedure is highly accurate and ideal for cancer prevention and diagnosis..

The recent method of wound closure by vacuum assistance is also a useful plastic surgery procedure. The wound is exposed  to negative pressure using a vacuum pump. The negative pressure forms granulation tissue that hastens the healing process.

Instant breast reconstruction is now possible using using surgery. This is known as segmental mastectomy. An experienced plastic surgeon is required for mammoplasty. This is most helpful for women undergoing partial breast removal of those having ungainly breasts. This reconstructive procedure can also be used in reducing or enhancing the size of the breast.
