What is assisted reproduction?

Being childless for a long time can be a frustrating experience for couples. In earlier times the sole blame of barrenness lay on the female and much less on men. This resulted in many broken marriages especially in Asian countries like India.

With advance of modern science and research the causes of infertility are now well known. The research and medical training has wrenched the treatment of infertility from the quacks. The treatment now is systematic medical approach that results in high degree of success. The treatment is carried out in infertility treatment clinics that are well equipped to treat the anomalies that lie in reproductive system of male or female body. The doctor heading the fertility clinic is an expert in fertility treatment with years of experience.

The main causes of infertility in females are blocked fallopian tubes, irregularity in releasing eggs, and premature stoppage of menstrual cycle in young women and due to major illness. The male infertility causes are lack of motile sperms, dead sperms and overall low sperm count.

The treatments are many i.e. many methods are employed on case basis. Amongst childless couples method adopted depends upon who is afflicted and how? The fertility expert is the best judge for treatment that is to take place.

Some methods for treating infertility are known as IVF or in vitro fertilization, ICSI or Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection, ovarian drilling, embryo transfer, egg donation and so on. The medical treatment for infertility is usually not costly in Asian countries like India. In this case hospital stay is not required extensively though for outside couples they will have to stay in hotel accommodation or guest house etc while the treatment is being carried out.

Liposuction surgery

The removal of fatty tissue surgical from body parts that have accumulated fat is known as Liposuction or lipoplasty. This is a suction  assisted fat reduction technique a part of cosmetic surgery.

Though the fat removal can take place from many different sites of the body the target organs are usually the stomach, abdomen, thigh and often the neck.

The surgery procedure is performed in cosmetic surgery clinic by an expert surgeon. The removal of fat by liposuction  can be limited. It depends upon the health and body contour of the person undergoing surgery. Care is taken that lumps or ungainly depression are not formed. This procedure is performed under local anesthesia and there is some amount of risk involved.

Liposuction is not an alternative to diet control or daily exercise. It is for those who have tried everything but due to some uncontrollable factor are unable to shed the accumulated fat. In order to undergo lipoplasty the person should be in excellent physical and mental health. Liposuction is not advised for those suffering from major ailments.

The device used is a hollow tube called cannula and a suction device called aspirator. In case of cannula a one time use device is safer but costly.

Type of Liposuction procedures

Dry Liposuction

Wet Liposuction

Here a small amount of liquid is injected into the target  area of the body. The liquid is a mixture of adrenaline, lidocaine a local anesthetic and saline solution to compensate for loss of body fluid.

Super-wet liposuction

Used whence large amount of fat is to be sucked out. Many plastic surgeon prefer this technique for high volume liposuction procedure.

Tumescent liposuction

The vasoconstrictor used in this case separates fat and muscles providing efficiency in aspiration of fatty tissue.

In liposuction apart from minor pain and discomfort the risk of infection is always present. The surgeon administers antibiotics prior to the surgery and recommends it for a period of time. The cost of liposuction varies. In India due to cheaper medicine and surgery cost liposuction is affordable.
